Natal chart
Your natal (or birth) chart is a snapshot of what was happening in the celestial bodies at the moment you were born. In this first moment of life we form an impression of reality that we carry with us straight through adulthood, and that influences our identity and perception of the world. We look at the placement of the sun, moon, planets, and horizon line in orientation to your birth place in order to understand your individual experience of reality.
In a natal chart reading we will delve into the various strengths and challenges that are with you through your life, as a therapeutic exploration. We may discuss your personality, family of origin, career path, relationships, resources, personal healing, true life purpose, significant dates and major life events, and much more as we move through the respective areas of your chart. Astrology can help us navigate crucial life decisions, as well as choose an optimal time for something new and important, or making changes in certain areas of our lives. This is your reading, so feel free to bring questions.
I do not practice astrology as a predictive art, but rather as a means of understanding that we are tiny beings on a vast planet in a vast solar system, and just like any ecosystem, a movement or change in an environment can impact every being within it. Astrology can be deeply humbling, simultaneously validating the truest and brightest expression of our identity, and reminding us we co-exist in a vast system that is largely beyond our control. I have found astrology to be grounding, affirming, non-judgmental, practical, and something that aligns an individual with their strengths, healing, and life opportunities.
Follow-up, year ahead, or solar return readings
Once you have had your first natal chart reading, you may come back at any time for another session. Our charts are complex enough that they take an entire lifetime to understand, or at least several sessions to have an initial grasp on. Follow-up sessions can dive deeper into specific areas of the chart and continue to explore and work through those themes and the patterns at work. You may also book a ‘year ahead’ reading (or a more in-depth reading of the next few months), or a solar return reading, which explore the themes from birthday to birthday each year. All follow up sessions make use of a range of astrological techniques that help us understand the current and approaching period of time, optimal timing for different decisions, the larger influences at work in our communities and world, and so much more. Clients come for regular readings anywhere from weekly to monthly to yearly to look at the approaching time, and seek guidance in specific areas.
Relationship
Comparing natal charts is a wonderful way to find insight into any kind of relationship – romantic, friendship, familial, contractual, and many more. These readings are not meant to determine the fate of any relationship. They are a roadmap into what you can accomplish together, your strengths and challenges, and how they can be navigated. Relationship readings can also make use of timing techniques to understand how the dynamic will shift and change through certain periods.
Family Charts
Mapping out family charts and illuminating the unique patterns, signatures, and themes in your family system is an astrology practice I feel deeply called to. In this type of reading we can look at anywhere from 3-8 charts of family members and discuss the intergenerational patterns and how they are activated in your own chart and life. This is a 90 minute session, and birth times are preferred but not necessary for all charts.
